I took this with the iPhone down at Pan Ha in Dysart. The low sun was catching various details of the buildings and creating lots of long shadows. I like to take photos directly against the light. It’s a bit of a hit and miss affair but when the work the results are dramatic. Pan Ha is the name for this ancient thoroughfare that runs beyond the harbour area. It is named for its once important industry. The name “Pan” derives from the many salt pans that once lay nearby, and “Ha'” is an abbreviation of the Scottish word -haugh-, meaning a flat piece of land.
