There is a great book by Betty Edwards called Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. For would be sketchers like myself it is a brilliant introduction on how to draw and it goes into some detail on how the brain works when you are involved in creative tasks. The part about relative time is interesting and it struck a chord when watching my children lost in thought here – sketching out images at The Lowry Centre in Manchester.

I usually work in black and white but the colours here were interesting. They were quite subtle but I strengthened the yellows as they provided an accent to lift the photos.
